Avalon organics shampoo review coming atcha! Spoiler, it’s a good one that will definitely be buying again.
Maybe you can relate — I am totally that person that is slooowwwly switching her products from toxic to less toxic or non-toxic, when possible. I do the whole dance all of those non-toxic advocates suggest — when I run out of something I look it up on EWG or the Think Dirty app and I see where it’s at in terms of “cleanliness” (normally not so good). Then I do some research (aka Google things), ask around, reference EWG and Think Dirty, and find something that’s clean, or at least cleaner, to try out. Sound familiar? I think a lot of people are trying this out where it makes sense.
But what happens when you try out something clean and you actually hate it? There have been several times that I try out a product or several products and still don’t find something I would buy again (looking at you natural deodorant), but I recently switched my shampoo to Avalon Organics Shampoo, the lavender scent, after asking for suggestions on Instagram, and I am really happy with the product and the price.
Avalon organics shampoo review
Smell
I got the lavender shampoo and conditioner set off of Amazon. The shampoo smells nice — it’s not overwhelming, but definitely lavender.
Texture
It also has a great thickness to the product vs. some runny shampoos I have tried in the past.
Experience — bring on the suds, yay!
And my favorite part is that it actually lathers and suds up like the old shampoo I used to use! In the past that has been one of the hardest parts about clean shampoo for me. Even though I’m sure the lathering has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the shampoo, there is something so satisfying about the suds while shampooing your hair and Avalon nailed it.
How much does Avalon Organics shampoo cost?
I got the shampoo + conditioner combination pack from Amazon. 32 ounces each for $22 total. The shampoo by itself was $11. When I was researching clean shampoo many of the products were that price or more for just 8 ounces, so I was really excited to see a large container for $11.
Where can you buy Avalon Organics shampoo?
Avalon Organics is available at a lot of local health food stores, bigger Whole Foods-like chains like Fresh Thyme carry it, and Amazon. They have a product locator if you want to check on availability in your area.
Also, I’ve seen the smaller 11oz shampoo products at Marshalls and TJMaxx from time to time, if that’s your thing look out for it there!
What about using Avalon Organics Shampoo if your hair is greasy? What about if it’s dry?
On the spectrum of dry to greasy, I have pretty “normal” hair. I wouldn’t say it’s super greasy or super dry or needs volume so if you’re looking to take care of something specific you’ll have to test it out for that. There are a ton of reviews for this particular shampoo on Amazon if you have a specific question I would look there. If you have the question, chances are someone else has too.
Ok ok, Avalon shampoo, but what about conditioner?
I did get the shampoo + conditioner combo pack from Amazon (affiliate) so I could try out the shampoo and conditioner. I like the shampoo more than the conditioner, but I will definitely keep using the conditioner even though it isn’t my favorite. I think it’s a texture thing for me. The conditioner I used to use was very thick and this one is a little thiner. Mentally that feels less conditioning to me.
