Oat Haus granola butter is now a pantry staple at the Nordquist household. It’s times like this when I can’t help but love Instagram ads because it brought me to granola butter — Oat Haus’ flagship, magical product. I’m a huge peanut butter, almond butter, Nutella, [insert any nut butter here] fan so I’m sure your level of surprise that I love granola butter is very, very low. But isn’t it fun to find a new product that keeps your pantry interesting and your taste buds guessing?
First things first, what is granola butter?
When I first heard the term “granola butter” I thought it was a joke. That’s a thing? Yes and it’s much like what it sounds like. A super blended version of your favorite clean ingredient granola, with the same funky, creative flavors you expect from your bag of granola.
It has a grittier and thinner texture than your standard peanut butter, which makes it perfect for drizzling. It separates just like natural peanut butter, so make sure you stir it well when you first open it. It can be kept at room temperature or in the fridge if you want a more solid crumbly texture.
The details on Oat Haus granola butter
Oat Haus has come up with a variety of delicious and surprising flavors and they are consistently releasing new ones.
Flavors
- Original
- Cookie Dough
- Vanilla
- Chocolate
- Strawberry Shortcake
- Birthday Cake
If I HAD TO pick, my favorites are Birthday Cake and Vanilla. But Strawberry Shortcake and Cookie Dough are close. And Original never fails. I’ll be honest, I haven’t tried Chocolate, it doesn’t interest me, probably because I’m too loyal to Nutella.
Let’s talk about granola butter nutrition — is granola butter healthy?
I’m an everything-in-moderation type of eater so anything can be on my menu. But I would put granola butter on the healthier side of the spectrum, especially for how I eat it. I use granola butter as a sweet treat and the alternatives are not as healthy so I feel really good about my Oat Haus obsession.
Granola butter is top 8 allergen-free. Dairy-free, nut-free, soy-free, gluten-free, vegan, kosher — ALL THE THINGS. It’s made from oats so it has a grain and if that’s not your thing then granola butter isn’t your thing. It’s similar to peanut butter, with about 170 calories for 2 Tablespoons. See the full list of granola butter ingredients here and granola butter nutrition facts here.
Where to buy Oat Haus granola butter
I’m sure by now you’re drooling and asking, where can I buy granola butter??
Amazon, of course.
Oat Haus website, for sure.
And in-store at specialty groceries stores like Whole Foods, Erewhon, and Harris Teeter. Get the full list of in-store options on Oat Haus’ store locator.
A bit about the OH brand
I always love to call out when a company is woman-owned and Oat Haus is! Plus, the branding is seriously fun. When I look at the packaging it makes me happy 🙂
What the best way to eat it?
I’m finding new ways to eat granola butter every week, here are my favorite ways to date.
By the spoonful
Seriously, it’s that good. I suggest Birthday Cake at that drizzly room temp or Cookie Dough straight from the fridge, it’s gives it that cookie dough texture.
Dip with apples
Yes, any fruit will work, but Vanilla Oat Haus granola butter with honeycrisp apples is A-MAZING.
Drizzle over ice cream, yogurt, or oatmeal
If you want a little extra flavor and some gritty texture, drizzling Oat Haus granola butter on your ice cream, yogurt, or oatmeal (all things I’ve tried) is delicious. The Strawberry Shortcake over vanilla ice cream is a win! I kind of love that it becomes hard on cold ice cream or yogurt and runny over hot oatmeal — such a little chameleon!
Granola butter toast or GB&J
Treat it like granola spread, just like you would peanut butter, and spread it on toast or make a granola butter and jelly sandwich. YUM.
Check out the Oat Haus site for more recommendations
Something I love about the Oat Haus site is that for each granola butter flavor they have a “taste like” flavor profile and a list of things to combine with that particular flavor for the best-tasting meal or snack. So helpful for idea generation!
