Are you looking for a Father’s Day gift idea that your husband (or your dad) will actually use and enjoy?
It can be challenging it can be to find something that our husbands or dads will genuinely appreciate and use. It’s time to step away from the typical round-up of gifts that only appeal to a specific demographic. After all, not every dad is an avid golfer, right? So, let’s skip the golf balls and clubs and focus on what truly brings joy to our husbands.
This list of gifts is full of things that make my husband smile from ear to ear! From hobby-related items to practical house stuff and comfortable clothing (he’s big on the feel of the fabric), these gift ideas are sure to make Father’s Day a memorable one for your special man. Get ready to impress him with something he’ll actually use and enjoy!
Nugget ice machine
We LOVE our nugget ice machine. Jeff actually got this for me for Mother’s Day, but by his reaction, I know he wanted it too 🙂 This is a pricier gift option, but if you love nugget ice as we do, it’s totally worth it. We use it constantly and now I can’t really imagine not having it. Our kiddos love it too!! Feels like such a special, elevated experience, but it’s just ice!
Pro tip: Make sure you look out for the “used” options on Amazon. We got our “used” which basically meant it was damaged in travel and had a dent on the back. We can’t see it and haven’t thought about it once, but we saved hundreds of dollars that way!
Bidet attachmentÂ
We went to Thailand for our honeymoon and every toilet you sit on in Thailand is a fancy device with 18 modes to clean you up 😉 Jeff became obsessed on our trip so one year I bought him a bidet attachment. I think this might go down as my best gift. I actually don’t like it, but he LOVES it.
Bacon grease holder
If your husband *has to* make his eggs with bacon grease like mine, this is the gift for him. It’s a silicone cup to put your hot bacon grease and has a cute little piggy-shaped top. It’s been a gift for me too, because I was never a fan of him using all sorts of random things to store the grease. Now it has a place!
Ember mug
If you haven’t heard me rave about Ember, feel free to check out my full gushy post about it. Jeff and I both have an Ember mug for our offices and we LOVE them. It’s a whole new, beautiful world when your coffee is always at the right temperature.
Jerky gun
I wouldn’t say Jeff is a big cook, but he pulls his weight in our house and I so appreciate that. Outside of the things I ask him to help with, he has specialty dishes that he exclusively makes in our house — like Thai curry, sushi, breakfast hash, steak boards, and now, jerky! We started to buy a quarter cow in the summer and Jeff quickly decided that meant he had to make jerky.  The first jerky gun that Jeff got was a cheap-o version and it broke on the first round of use — oops! This was his second jerky gun purchase and it’s been great.
Dewalt cordless yard tools
Not having a cord is incredible helpful for yard tools!! The Dewalt cordless handheld leaf blower was our first purchase into this line of products. But I’m telling you, your husband will love them because of the convenience and once you start buying these Dewalt cordless tools, you’ll be collecting more. They are very convenient and all take the same battery so get a few extra batteries and always be charging!
Heavy duty yard cart (aka wheelbarrow)
This yard cart was a birthday present from Jeff’s parents and it’s been a huge hit. We were removing rocks from one of our gardening bed this spring and he said “we’ve gotten our money’s worth out of this thing”. It’s super sturdy and moves well in the yard!
Fellow coffee setup
We have the Fellow gooseneck kettle and pour over system. It’s BEAUTIFUL and functional. If your man likes coffee and aesthetics, this is a great gift.
Double-wall glass cups
We love these double glass cups to drink our pour-over coffee in. Well, Jeff does because his Ember is at his office. I go Ember mug 95% of the time now, even in the car for daycare drop off!
Lululemon polos and ABC pants
Jeff has a thing about the feel of the fabric. He’s very into comfort and loves to find something that looks business casual but feels sweats-level comfy.
The Lululemon polos and ABC pants are his work “uniform”. Unless it’s jeans day, you’re going to catch him in ABC pants. I know another pair of these or a polo is always a good suggestion, especially because he rarely buys clothes for himself.
FYI for sizing: he’s 6 foot 4 inches and wears an XL polo, and 34 long pants.
Sweatshirt and sweatpants set (comes in tall!)
Speaking of comfy clothes. I got Jeff this sweat set from Old Navy that comes in tall (a big deal for our family) and we ended up getting it in another color because he loved it so much. He has an olive green color and medium heather gray.
Custom socks with your kid’s faces on them
Ok, this is the only not-really-practical-gift that I have on the list, but seeing him open these socks and seeing the girls react to them was totally worth it.
I did this for Jeff last year and while it’s an absurd price to pay for a pair of socks Jeff thought it was hilarious and he loves them. Plus, the girls thought it was the funniest thing, and they still get excited to see Jeff wear it.
Goodr sunglasses
If you haven’t been introduced to this brand, you’re welcome. Starting at about $25 per pair of Goodr sunglasses, depending on what kind you get, you can get your husband a few pairs to store in his car, your car, and on the tractor!
Airpods Pro or Apple watch
If your husband has Apple products, you really can’t go wrong with Airpods, Airpods Pro, or an Apple Watch as a Father’s Day gift.
Pro tip: look out for refurbished versions and don’t forget to look at older models! Jeff got a refurbished Apple Watch. It works wonderfully and he saved a couple hundred dollars!
