Do you ever jump on TikTok for recipe inspiration? I’ll admit I was pretty late to the TikTok game, but I do really enjoy getting onto TikTok and looking at food inspiration. There are a lot of really easy recipes and hacks on there and I appreciate the ‘come as you are’ vibe.
Well one day as I was scrolling while breastfeeding I came across a 3 ingredient salad and I knew I had to try it. Three ingredients sounds like my kind of salad.
TikTok Arugula and Sauerkraut Salad Recipe
Salt + pepper
Ok ok, there are five ingredients listed here, but I do not count salt + pepper 🙂
I tested it out a bit, my favorite ratio was about 1/3 sauerkraut and 2/3 arugula. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
What’s not to like?
I realize Arugula and Sauerkraut aren’t for everyone, but dang, if you’re willing to try it, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in this salad. It’s peppery and tangy. There’s a bit of crunch. And if I was a nutritionist (which I am not) I would serve this up to my clients for gut health.
I like to have sauerkraut with on my brats so I tried topping this salad with sliced up grilled brats and a little drizzle of yellow mustard. It was really tasty. I’ll definitely be doing that again when we have leftover brats.
